Mary Oppermann
Flutist Mary Oppermann enjoys a versatile and active career as an orchestral, chamber, studio musician and teacher in the Southern California area. She has performed in many orchestras and ensembles including Crystal Cathedral Orchestra, South Coast Symphony, Long Beach Chorale Orchestra, Bel Canto Singers Orchestra, and Culver City Chamber Orchestra among others. She has worked with such artists as Ray Charles, Randy Travis, Mannheim Steamroller, Roger Williams, James Ingram, and Amy Grant, just to name a few.
Mary received her Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from California State University, Long Beach and her Master’s Degree in Flute Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City where she studied with the world-renowned flutist Julius Baker.
In addition to thoroughly enjoying being a member of the Da Capo Players for over 10 years, Mary loves to teach. She currently teaches flute at California Baptist University in Riverside where she maintains a large studio of private students.
